The organization began serving our community in 2014 as a coordinated effort to 'patrol' during the coldest nights of the year to look for + protect those experiencing homelessness from exposure-caused injuries + death.
It’s that time of year — holiday parties, baking cookies, ugly sweater competitions, spending time with family, decorating your office and home, hot cocoa by the warm fire and the anxiety that comes with finding the perfect gift for the person that has everything. Sadly, there are people right here in our community who aren’t experiencing the holiday season in the same joyful way.
In 2012, Giving Tuesday began & the idea behind it was simple — encourage others to give back to their communities and/or organizations they care deeply about. It kicks off the giving season just a few weeks before Christmas. Giving Tuesday is always the Tuesday after Thanksgiving & is organized & celebrated with the simple aim of encouraging individuals, schools, businesses, organizations, churches and families to give to the less fortunate.
